Au-Pair in France

Our Au pair program in France offers the opportunity for candidates to practice their French language skills and learn about the French culture, while taking care of children and doing some light housework.  Au pairs in this program usually work 30 hours a week, and have 1.5 days off to enjoy their culturally enriched environment.

Required qualifications:

• You are between 18 and 27 years old
• You have a good basic knowledge of the French language
• You have acquired sufficient experience in childcare
• You are prepared to adjust to your host family’s daily life
• You know how to do daily housework
• You would like to stay in France as an au pair for 10 to 12 months

This Program provides:

• Full board and accommodation
• Weekly pocket money of €70-€80 for 30 hours of work
• A Carte Orange (monthly metro ticket) that the host family will provide for you 
• Pick-up from the airport by the host family
• health insurance
• Information on attending mandatory French language classes

Have fun taking Language courses

In order to get a visa in France, Au pairs are required to take French language classes at their own expense. We will provide you with the help needed to find the most suitable language courses at your level. The price of a language course varies, but is on average between 100 and 120 Euros per month for up to 6 classes a week. Non European citizens will be pre-registered by our team to assist in their visa applications.  

For a complete application we need the following documents (in the French language):

• The application form
• A copy of your passport
• 2 recent passport pictures
• A recent medical certificate
• A birth certificate (with a certified English translation)
• A copy of your driver’s license (if you have one)
• A criminal record check certificate
• A small photo album with family, friends, and children that you have taken care of
• A “Dear host family” letter in French (explaining your family background, your experience with children, your motivation for the au pair program, your personality etc…)
• 2 childcare references from families that you have worked for
• 1 character reference from a former employer, teacher, pastor etc…
• A copy of a secondary school diploma (with a certified translation in French)
• Pre-registration at a French language school- necessary to obtain a visa
