Au-Pair in United Kingdom

Our Au pair program in England offers the opportunity for candidates to practice their English language skills and learn about English culture, while taking care of children and doing some light housework. Au pairs in this program usually work 30 hours a week, and have 2 days off (1 full day and 2 half days) to enjoy the lively British atmosphere.

Required qualifications:

• You are between 18 and 27 years old
• You have a good basic knowledge of the English language
• You have acquired sufficient experience in childcare
• You are prepared to adjust to your host family’s daily life
• You know how to do daily housework
• You would like to stay in England as an au pair for 10 to 12 months

This Program provides:

• Full board and accommodation
• Pick-up from the airport by the host family
• Welcome package (a “welcome call” from our staff, an information packet that will help you adjust to your new surroundings, and the names and phone numbers of other au pairs in your area)
• Au pair meetings (when available)
• Information on taking local English language classes (if the au pair is interested in attending)
• One full week paid vacation for each 6 months completed
• Weekly pocket money-
• minimum of £60 for 25 hours per week
• minimum of £70 for 30 hours per week
• minimum of £80 for 35 hours per week
• health insurance

For a complete application we need the following documents (in the English language):

• The application form
• A copy of your passport
• 2 recent passport pictures
• A recent medical certificate
• A birth certificate (with a certified English translation)
• A copy of your driver’s license (if you have one)
• A criminal record check certificate
• An English language evaluation certificate
• A small photo album with family, friends, and children that you have taken care of
• A “Dear host family” letter in English (explaining your family background, your experience with children, your motivation for the au pair program, your personality etc…)
• 2 childcare references from families that you have worked for
• 1 character reference from a former employer, teacher, pastor etc...
• A copy of a secondary school diploma (with a certified translation in English)
